Sand!

OK - time to come clean as to why we are in Hawaii for the month of February . . .Scott is applying for the Honolulu Police Department and needed 3 weeks to get all the tests done! Who wouldn't like to have this view each day you go to work....hahaha!

Anyway, we were up early again and hit the beach! It was already in the high 20's by 10am, so a swim was definitely in order. We also gave Megan her first feel of sand -- no freak outs! She enjoyed curling her toes in the cool depths of the sand and was content to watch people walking by. Grandpa took her down by the water and she wasn't as happy about the wet sand or the waves lapping onto the beach, but still a success!

Megan played with Grandma in the shade for most of the morning, as we swam and took in the rays. We had a great walk along the Ocean path and explored a few of the other hotels in the area. Tonight is a date night for us, so we are in the process of putting down our little girl for bed and G&G will read their books on our patio while looking after her.

Sorry to hear about the snow for our East Coast bloggers - we're sending warm thoughts!

Yeah - holiday mode! We had a great trip - Megan is an excellent traveller (thankfully!) We also have to thank to the American Airlines Ticket Agent in Calgary - she pulled us from the back of the line and gave us some excellent service (and deal) - and Megan wasn't even crying! Anyway she reserved Meg a seat for our flights for the low fare of $12.77 - crazy but true! So here's Megan looking like a big girl on her flight from LA to Hawaii...we enjoyed the extra room!

She slept pretty much the entire 6 hour flight...only downside was we arrived at our hotel @ midnight and Ms. Megan was up for the day @ 4am. Ugh! But we woke up in Hawaii, so how bad can it actually be, right?!

We went over to Ma & Pa Lee's condo @ 7am and took in the sunrise and then took a short walk for some breakfast. The rest of the day has been fun exploring, walking, getting some groceries and enjoying the tempature and sunshine.

Fashion Show!

We are less than a week away from our trip! And after mommy and Megan got back from skating on the lake today, they put on a fashion show for daddy - which served as a nice break from his homework!

Tomorrow is daddy-daughter day, as Katie has a baby shower for a friend. Scott is bound to document his day as the proud father, so check back for those adventures too.

Best Friends Forever!

Megan and her cousin Sierra visited this week. They love hanging out with each other and having their little 'chats' are they grow up together! Being only 3 months apart, we soon won't be able to know who's older as they both continue to grow so quickly!

Megan is 4 month's old tomorrow and has her check-up and vaccinations. We'll be sure to post an update on her height/weight, etc.

Holiday Hat!

Grandma and Grandpa Lee came over for dinner and a visit tonight (they brought dessert - lemon pie!) And as our little girl was sitting around in her flannel pajamas, we thought it would be a good time to have a holiday hat fashion show!!

This is one of the options she'll be wearing while we are away. We're very pleased that it doesn't seem to bother her - no tugging at it, screaming or otherwise! Let's hope the same is true when we actually get there.

It fits her head well, but it's so massive - which is good it will offer this little red head lots of shade. She played a little shy for G&G tonight, but she'd better get over that quickly!

Cold and snow this week - but our countdown is on, so the warm thoughts will have to get us through...

Sporty Megan!

Someone is ready for her workout with mommy!

When she got this outfit at Christmas - it looked way too huge for her. But one short month later, she's wearing it in style!

Megan is learning to roll - she's mastered the legs in air, scissor-kick and on-to-my side part. But she just isn't ready to go all the way over.

She remains very talkative (except for when we're trying to get her to talk for Nana & Baba on the phone!) She really seems to like the high-pitched version of her voice right now. Mommy thinks it's funny for 5 minutes - not all day! But very cute nonetheless.

Busy with school, work & getting ready for our trip!

Oh Brother!

Grant is visiting right now -- we've really enjoyed our couple of days with him. Today we made the most of a beautiful day (+6) and went to the lake for some fun on the ice! We've never seen ice so clear before! It really was amazing - it was so thick too. We did a couple of spins on the man-made surface near the club house and then went down to the lake for the real winter experience.

And here we are on the lake - we only saw one other person skating today and two people ice fishing in the centre of the lake. Megan slept for the entire trip(s) around the lake, so we were able to make 3 loops!

The lake also has 3 hockey rinks (2 with lights) and a lighted skating area, for those who don't want to make trips around the lake at night...our next adventure will have to include some night skating for sure!
