I'm Growing!

Megan is now 3 months old! We went and measured and weighed her today. She's 12 pounds, 1 oz. and is 24 inches long. Here she is looking comfy and cute in one of the outfits Uncle Paul, Aunt Amanda and cousin Matthew got her for Christmas.

Christmas!

We had Christmas on the Island with all the family - what a great time! Here's some of the photos of our adventures.

Great Grandma, Nana and Baba working in the kitchen with Megan.

Colin and Wesley opening gifts as Heather and Paul look on.

Megan showing off her Christmas Day outfit and then being held by Great Grandpa.

We also had a chance to visit with Steve (Katie's brother) who is living on Denman Island. We explored lots of cool parks on the Island with him and his girlfriend, Megan - too funny, right? It was great we were able to have a visit with them.

The week went by very quickly, but it's nice to be home. Not much planned for New Years - but more postings to come before then - we hope! Hope everyone had great holiday time with friends and family.

Visitor Fun . . .

We have visitors! Paul, Amanda and Matthew made a stop in Calgary for a few days before we all go to Port for Christmas. Ed & Christine came over for dinner and played Santa! Matthew's gifts were a huge hit - as he is anxiously waiting for dad to open his truck!

Matthew also found Katie's sunglasses around the house and surprise they fit! Yes, Katie does shop in the kids section for sunglasses - now all the bloggers int he world know : )

We got all dressed warm and walked to the lake for some snow fun!! Matthew did really good in the snow and had fun sled rides with dad and Uncle Scott. Megan, Amanda and Katie just cheered on the boys!

The rest of our visit has involved lots of fun, laughing and snuggles! Amanda (5 month's pregnant) looks right in her element with Matthew and Megan. And Matthew and Megan have been playing well together. Matt is very gentle with her and likes to check-in on her no matter what she is doing. Megan got an early present from Grandma and Grandpa Lee and Megan absolutely loves her jungle gym -- she's reaching and swinging the animals and loves to bounce her legs and arms to the music...very cute!

Thanks for checking in - hope everyone has a great Christmas holiday!

Megan's New Bow

It seems wrong for a girl with as much beautiful hair as Megan to not have a few bows to wear in it! Today I was out and found an adorable little pink and brown poke-a-dot bow for her hair...I think she likes it too :)

The Wreath . . .

Scott won this wreath at his work Christmas party last week. Since there are 3 people on it - we thought it was very fitting!
Warm weather is coming tomorrow - we are very much looking forward to getting out of the deep freeze! And just in time, since Scott's brother and family arrive this Saturday - now we can actually leave the hose and do some fun activities with the kids!
Enjoy your week.

Cute Photos of Megan

We're received feedback that we haven't been updating the blog with Megan photos enough! We hear you loud and clear, so this entry is dedicated to cute pictures of our little girl. Enjoy!

Dad was late from work, so bath time was delayed and tired Megan needed some soother time!

Baby, it's cold outside....

Let it Snow . . .

Yesterday was our Friends & Family Christmas Party and wouldn't you know it -- Calgary was hit with a Blizzard on Friday and Saturday! Yes, I used the word blizzard and I think the photos will confirm it's worthy of use (plus - the weatherman used it too - not that they are even remotely right most of the time, but it sounds official!)

Despite the poor weather, which did improve by Saturday afternoon, we had 20 adults and 10 kids (5 of them were under the age of 6 months, the others were toddlers) at our party this year. Katie made gingerbread snowflakes for the toddlers to decorate - they loved the activity!

The adults just filled our bellies and had a great visit.

As you can see from above, even the airport wasn't much of an escape route! Calgary is expected to stay cold (-20 as the high) but no more snow is expected for the next few days.

Coming to visit us soon? Dress warm please! As for the rest of our weekend - we're staying inside!

The Negotiator

Scott was shortlisted for a Negotiator position at work this week and had his follow up interview yesterday...and I'm happy to tell you that he was successful and is now officially a Police Negotiator! He does have some training to complete in Ottawa before he's allowed to officially start up with the team, but the fact that he's now a part of the team has him pretty excited.

I figure he wanted this so bad because there are now two girls in the house and he'll need as much help as possible...especially since Megan already has him wrapped around her little finger!

Having first had experience with his negotiation skills I'm fairly confident he'll do a much better job than the police officer in the picture!

Congratulations Scott!!!

Boyd Bear Christmas Tree . . .

Our Christmas party for family and friends is next Saturday - so we thought we'd better get our tree up this weekend, since there's enough party planning stuff to do the rest of the week. And since it's our first Christmas in this house, we bought a new tree to fill the space. Our theme is Boyd's Bears. Our previous tree is too tiny and will have to find a new home.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Friends!

Megan got to hang out with some of her Pre-Natal Class friends the other night. We've spent time with 4 other couples from the class - mostly Katie has been meeting the moms and doing walks - but there seems to be some of the couples that we have lots in common with...Snowboarding anyone!!
Megan is the oldest of the group and the others range from days to weeks younger. Everyone got along fine! 2 Boys and 3 Girls = lots of fun!!

Morning Playtime

One of our favorite times of day is first thing in the morning - we are fortunate to have a daughter who always seems to wake up happy and ready to play. We took a few pictures of her and you can see her processing the fun she's having.

We have also been able to get connected via a Webcam and have been enjoying visits with our family who don't get to see Megan in person. She's been very entertaining with her smiles and is sure to get more talkitive in future visits!

Happy Birthday Dad!

We had Katie's dad and the rest of the family over tonight to celebrate his birthday!
The cousins had a blast playing with each other - it was funny to watch them check each other out and we caught then looking and laughing at each other numerous times throughout the night - very cute! Hope you had a great birthday party, Dad/Ed!
Scott has to work tomorrow night, but Katie is hooking up with the pre-natal gang to have a pizza night - should be fun to see all the kids indoors, since most of their visits have just been during walks in Fish Creek Park. Catch-up more this weekend.

Swimming!

Our field trip on Sunday involved a trip to the pool! Megan loves the water and she got to show off her bathing suit (re-usable diaper). She went topless on this occasion, because her actual bathing suits don't fit her yet - but likely will for Hawaii in February!

She enjoyed the warm water of the YMCA and had lots of smiles once she got familiar with the environment in the safety of mom's arms. No crying or anything near crying - so we consider it a very successful experience for all of us. Plus she kicked her legs in the water almost the whole time - so she's gonna be a swimmer like mom.

Playtime with the Pink Penguin!

We dressed Megan up for a morning walk and, since the temperatures are dipping below zero overnight, she got bundled today in her pink outdoor sleeper. She doesn't like having her hands covered, so she was waving them around, much like a penguin - very cute! And combined with her "Bundle Me" car seat cover (thanks, Lou!) she was toasty warm for our walk.

And then Dad and Megan just looked like they were having so much fun that we wanted to capture their adventure together. Her hair is getting longer and seems darker in the photos, but in person she's still a redhead!

Smile!

Our little girl is now smiling! She loves to play when she wakes up from her naps and we now get the reward of seeing her smile as we play and act goofy with her. We're sure her laugh is soon to follow. For now we get lots of squeals and screams of joy. Having fun - hope you are too!

Happy Halloween!

Princess Megan had a great first Halloween - had a nice long carriage ride with Grandpa and then giggled with Grandma as they played. As the trick and treaters were starting to come at night, she had some friends stop by to say hi! Grandma Lee put her in her Princess outfit - cute.

Scott has to go back to work tomorrow - after 2 weeks at home with the girls, it's gonna be tough.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Double Trouble

Megan and Sierra have been hanging out getting to know each other the last few weeks. They are sure to be great friends, cousins and trouble-makers! Megan is wearing her, "let's go to the farm" outfit. Just three months seperate them, so they'll be experiencing things all around the same time - very exciting for us to watch it all happen!

1 Month!

Hard to believe that Megan is a month old! Today we went and got her weight and height -- she is 21 inches and 8 pounds, 15.5 oz. Almost 9 pounds...wow! She already doesn't fit into some of her first outfits (sad!) But friends and family have been so generous - she has lots more to grow into!

To celebrate her growth, she had some playtime in the bouncer. She tuckered herself out pretty quick!
Scott has been enjoying his 2 weeks off work - although it's going to make it that much tougher to leave the girls and go back to work!
Pumkin carving (maybe) tomorrow!! Katie has been talking about her design for a few days now - should be fun!

Visitors...

Nana and Baba Boyd are just ending their visit. They had a great time getting to know Megan and were able to share lots of cool experiences during their week together - bath time, feeding from a bottle, walks, story and play time...and, of course, lots of cuddle time.

Here's some photos...

Thanks for the visit - see you at Christmas!!
