7x7 - Tag Game

Before we move into a new month (where does the time go?!) We thought we should finish off the Tag Game we blogged about earlier. Several of the people tagged submitted their photos to us and we wanted to share. Thank you to all that participated - it was fun.

OK - so minor glitch. As we went to post the photos, we can't find a few of your entries anymore. Sorry - but we're posting photos that are a 'symbol' of the effort!

Demo Days!

We took possession of our new place last Monday! And it didn't take long to get to work on the renovations we want to make before we move in. The demolition seems to be going well and there was tons of progress, as of Friday night. New counter tops, fixtures, sinks and back splash for all the bathrooms are on the way.

The kitchen gets new counter top, fixtures, back splash and a massive sink too!

The fireplace in the living room is getting a great layered slate look and the big cubby hole is being covered over - we aren't TV people - plus as if that area would ever get dusted, if we didn't close it!

A very cool mud room is also in the works. it will look similar to this photo, except the door will lead to our garage and we want a bench that opens with storage more inside.

OK - that gives you the latest update on house happenings. Katie and baby bump are both well - Dr. appointment next week, and then the 18-week ultrasound the following week!! Enjoy your weekend.

Katie's Birthday Bowler-Rama

Last night was Katie's Annual Birthday Bowler-Rama! We had a blast with a group of friends and family taking over a section of the Casino Bowling Alley. Katie's mom did an excellent job on the cupcake platter. They tasted as good as they look!



To jump start Spring, we had a tropical theme and the grass skirts and bright shirts were all very festive and won some people some prizes @ Starbucks!




Bowling skills don't matter, but there was more than enough healthy competition to keep people laughing and chasing strikes! You can see that Roxcie carried both her bowling balls to the floor to save time - one in hand, one under her shirt : ) (hahaha 30 weeks & counting...let's hope it's not a 15 pounder, like the bowling ball in her hand!)





Glad everyone was able to make it! Until next year, keep the hoola skirts swaying!

Spring Time Fun . . .

We spent the day down by the river playing Frisbee Golf. Katie had the best play of the day! She hit a target from 25 feet away. Even more impressive was that the wind was strong and made the game unpredictable. She only won the single hole, as Scott continued his reign as Frisbee Golf Champion, but it was definately worth highlighting!!

Tons of people were out and we just enjoyed people watching as we walked along the river in the afternoon sun. It is helping to melt the last of the snow in Calgary. Hope you got a chance to get out and enjoy some fun too.

This photo is funny because it's what has been happening to our Easter Chocolate in our house...

Just a relaxed weekend in our house. Spent yesterday at the new house with contractors getting estimates for the projects. We take possession a week tomorrow. The people who bought our house now want to bump up the possession date - from the middle to start of June. We'll see what happens - we don't want to rush the project.

The sun has been shining all weekend, so it's meant some nice walks. We're headed to the park this afternoon to play Frisbee golf.

Ma & Pa Boyd come for a visit on Thursday and Katie's Birthday Bowler-Rama on Saturday night! Should be another great weekend!

New Home!

Good news, we are no longer homeless! We bought a house last week and the conditions cleared this past Friday. We take possession in just a few weeks, but don't have to rush, since our current home doesn't transfer until June. It means we can do a few things to the new house before moving in -- putting in granite counter tops, new back splash and a few other minor changes.

We bought in a nice Lake Community not far from where we currently live. So it means we (and the kids...hee-hee!) get access to the lake toys and beach in the summer and the ice rink on the lake and toboggan hill in the winter!


The house is 2400 Sq Ft, 9-foot ceilings and backs onto a bike path/walkway. We're happy with the large rooms - you don't get that in Calgary with new homes anymore. The house was staged, if you can even call it that - so ignore the furniture. Enjoy the before photos and we'll update them when we're done the changes.

It has a front attached garage, but it got cut-off in the plans.
