Double Trouble

Megan and Sierra have been hanging out getting to know each other the last few weeks. They are sure to be great friends, cousins and trouble-makers! Megan is wearing her, "let's go to the farm" outfit. Just three months seperate them, so they'll be experiencing things all around the same time - very exciting for us to watch it all happen!

1 Month!

Hard to believe that Megan is a month old! Today we went and got her weight and height -- she is 21 inches and 8 pounds, 15.5 oz. Almost 9 pounds...wow! She already doesn't fit into some of her first outfits (sad!) But friends and family have been so generous - she has lots more to grow into!

To celebrate her growth, she had some playtime in the bouncer. She tuckered herself out pretty quick!
Scott has been enjoying his 2 weeks off work - although it's going to make it that much tougher to leave the girls and go back to work!
Pumkin carving (maybe) tomorrow!! Katie has been talking about her design for a few days now - should be fun!

Visitors...

Nana and Baba Boyd are just ending their visit. They had a great time getting to know Megan and were able to share lots of cool experiences during their week together - bath time, feeding from a bottle, walks, story and play time...and, of course, lots of cuddle time.

Here's some photos...

Thanks for the visit - see you at Christmas!!

Megan's Photo Shoot

At our Community Stampede Party this summer, there was a booth from a photographer. We got to talking with her and end up winning a draw for a free session and photo credits. So - we had our little star, Megan, get some photos done.

We are very happy with how they turned out - what do you think?!

We were out tonight at the Farm with Adam/Roxcie/Sierra - Megan and Sierra were very cute together and we'll post some pictures of their adventures in the coming days.

Hockey Night in Calgary...

Scott's parents are in Calgary for a week! We had a nice walk and explored around the lake this afternoon and then Scott and his dad went to the Flames Game. They had good seats and were able to see the Flames beat the Blue Jackets 6-3.

Nana and Baba Boyd arrived from NYC where they were visiting Paul, Amanda and Matthew for his first b-day. They enjoyed meeting Megan in between her naps and have been getting some good cuddle time. We have a nice week planned with both sets of parents, family and friends.

Have a great week!

Building...

If Megan's first words are beep, beep, beep (sound of a tractor backing) then we'll know that the construction behind our home has been an influence! It's the last home in the area to be built, so we'll suffer through some of the building noises to get a neighbour.

For the summer months, the lot has been a source of endless fun for the kids in the neighbourhood. They've built dirt jumps, played in muddy puddles and threw rocks at each other...sigh...Empty Lot, you will be missed by many. (But not us! haha)

Snow Words...

Yes, Calgary had more than enough snow in the past few days to create such creatures! And in true Calgary fashion we are supposed to hit +17 by the weekend. The melt has already started, but the havoc on the streets will now be seen in auto shops for weeks to come! Coming to Calgary soon...bring your shorts and snowsuit just to be safe!

Happy 1st Birthday Matthew!!

A big happy birthday to our nephew, Matthew! Today he is one and we have enjoyed watching him grow-up in photos and in our visits that we cherish! Glad you are celebrating with both sets of grandparents in NYC.

Enjoy your special day, buddy!!

p.s. - thanks for also sharing your news with us! We can't wait to see everyone @ Christmas.

Operation 'Dinner Out'

On Friday night we met with some of Katie's side of the family and celebrated her Aunt Maureen's birthday. We met at a restaurant, so it meant Operation Dinner Out!

And, as you know, the key to most successful operations is for our main participant, Megan, to sleep through the majority of the evening...and she did so with peacful content. She did wake-up long enough to see who was in attendance and make sure mom was close tho.

Megan received lots of compliments and is bound to see more field trips in her future.

Saturday has been cold and we stayed inside. Megan had playtime with mom & dad in both the morning and afternoon, as they tried to keep her up for a good sleep tonight!

Enoying Bath Time...

Our little one was very relaxed tonight and seemed to enjoy her bath time again. She had a great check-up earlier in the week and is 7 pounds 3oz and growing. Mom and Megan have been out visiting with some friends, enjoying walks in the stroller and enjoying their afternoon naps!

And Megan was also very patient with mom and dad as they tried some different hairstyles out! We may have even seen the start of a smile in one of these photos - we think she had fun.

Thanksgiving weekend will be spent with Katie's folks and Adam & Rox and Sierra. We're looking forward to a long-weekend and don't plan too much else because it's gonna be cold for the next few days. Hope you all get some turkey!

Inside & Out

Cold and stormy on the outside....
Warm and cozy on the inside.

Despite the weather (Yes, that photo is from today!), it was a good day at the Boyd house. We had a couple of visitors who we enjoyed our time with. And this evening our good neighbours had us over for dinner! Scott has to go to work tomorrow and will miss his girls this week! Hopefully Katie will blog about their adventures and capture any developments on camera to share! Have A Good Week!

Anniversary Memories . . .

Two years ago we were in Tahiti celebrating our marriage! And now we are at home with our little girl!! Where did the time go?!? So many great memories between then and now.
And many more to come...
Here's a couple of photos that make us remember the adventures we had with our friends and family while we were there -- warm sand, great food and beautiful scenery.
