Snow Day!

We were enjoying some warmer temps last week & took advantage of it by heading to the lake with our little girl!

She loved watching everyone on the ice - next year we will give Megan the chance to learn to skate. But for this year, she was content to have us push her around in her stroller.

It was great to see so many people enjoying the lake - dozens of families making the most of the warm up.

But someone also loves to be at home - in her chair!

But today we woke up to a LOT of new snow - so it's a good day to play inside! Also a good day to keep telling ourselves only a few short weeks before fun in the sun holiday - yeah!!

The Simple Life

We made a trip to Adam and Roxcie's Ranch today. The weather is beautiful - sunny and warm (aka above zero at least!) Damien was there too and the girls loved to play together!

Sierra showed Megan one of her favorite games - Stand at the top of the stairs, with daddy at the bottom and then throw colourful balls down to him. Megan loved it too and they laughed and watch the balls go up and down the stairs!

The girls were so cute together. We think of Megan as our toddler now - but when you put her next to her cousin, you remember the difference 3 months makes at that age!

We had a great visit & grandma and grandpa will be home next weekend after a month away - so they are bound to see tons of changes in each of them!

Leaps & Bounds

Just a quick update (without photos - sorry!)

Scott and Megan had music class today and they came home to report that Megan was very active in the class today. She typically is very social, likes to sing and dance - but Scott says today says she was so impressive!

She was doing actions to songs that we don't even sing @ home! Just just loved watching the teacher and was content to follow. Another big change was that she is almost always last to pick up the different music instruments. She likes to watch as the other kids get theirs and then will select one and run back to daddy. Not today -- she was right at the front of the line picking what she wanted.

Very interesting to see the developments. And who knows what next week will bring!

On the work front - we are celebrating a new job for Katie - yeah! She wasn't really looking for a change, but this opportunity presented itself and was too good to pass up. She starts Jan 31 - will work a few short weeks then then we head for vacation!

Today we have blowing snow and cold temps -- so we ventured to an indoor play park!

Our little girl had a great time exploring all the levels, climbing and watching the other kids.

A highlight was watching her explore the ball pit!

New Year - New Sled!

Happy New Year!

We got a nice break in the weather today and the girls are finally feeling a little better - so we ventured to the lake for some morning fun! We tested out the new sled from Nana and Baba - Megan wasn't too happy until we actually got moving - then the smiles came out. She will have to learn some patience for the trudge up the hill!

We also watched the Zamboni clear the rinks on the lake. And saw some little kids playing hockey with their parents.

And then we took a break inside the club house for some snacks. There were lots of kids to watch, so our little girl was very entertained! A great family day outdoors!
