Birthday & Visitors!

With a smile this big you may think it's her birthday!
But Megan is just excited to celebrate Mommy's birthday and to have all the visitors coming to our house!!

Reid was quick to explore the castle and took a turn standing guard looking for looters!

Grandpa was very happy to be surrounded by many of his grandchildren!

And Grandma made yummy treats for Katie's birthday!
You can tell who wanted the first ones off the plate!

This is one of Megan's favourite games with mommy and daddy - try and kiss me as I slide by...

The looks of wonder and enjoyment really say it all!

Nana and Baba were able to fly in for the weekend to help us celebrate too!
We loved having them and sharing memories and laughs!

And after a full day of playing - we all need a break.
Megan has been asking to "read" us bedtime stories...probably a delay tactic, but so darn cute!

Hop hop like a bunny!

Bag for holding goodies - check!  Trail of goodies scattered in the house - check!
A hunting we will go...

Parenting lesson learned: Should have set the "ground rules" of waiting to eat the candy until everything had been found!  She was really quick to get the first one in!

Kid lesson learned: If you find candy behind one pillow...chances are there is candy behind another pillow!

Kid lesson learned: Tippy-toes are a huge help to reach some candy!

The loot also included some nail polish - which was requested to to be put on immediately!

And there were some small books too. Always time to take a break from chocolate hunting for a good book!

And the trail has to come to an end...good thing there was a chocolate princess waiting!

After all the hard work, there is time for some nail polish treatment and a treat.
Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Happy Easter

Holidays are a great reminder of how children see the world. The tradition of decorating Easter eggs sparked a ton of excitement in our house this weekend.
Megan was concentrating on a very intense level and wanted to ensure the exact design for each egg!
The fact that we got to dip the eggs in dye was even better. She loved to ensure they were each covered and loved to see the colour changing.
Here are some of the final product! Happy Easter...

Pink Castle!

We have to thank Grandma and Grandpa for getting a new freezer and bringing over the empty box - it resulted in a morning full of adventure for us! Megan explored the pieces to start and then we developed a blueprint.
Megan couldn't wait to get into the PINK duct tape...what else do you build a pink castle with?!?
Once the initial structure was in place, it was time to add some windows and special features.
 Megan loved the window design...
And the birthday cake drive-thru window too. She was very excited to start seeing the pink tape accents.
Security is taken very seriously @ the Pink Castle - What's the Password!!
 Ta-Da - It's Finished!
 We're Open For Business!!
All that hard work deserves a morning snack.
