Weekend Plans . . .

It's almost Friday, so I think we can start talking about weekend plans. We have another busy weekend planned- surprised?! We have a wedding to attend on Saturday - very much looking forward to seeing our friends and helping them celebrate!
On Sunday, we are making a date for dinner and then the John Mayer Concert @ the Saddledome. It should be tons of fun, we're going with Adam & Roxcie too - although our tickets at the concert are a section away.

(Background Story) When Scott was getting tickets online for the concert, he managed to score four (4) tixs in the 8th row floor. But knowing that "someone" was adverse to floor tickets due to some unknown 'mosh-pit' trauma -- he gave those up and hit the "find best tickets" again. However, this time the rest of Calgary was now doing the same thing and 4 tickets together were not to be found. Anyway, we still have good seats and we should be well clear of any John Mayer Fan Club Zone on the floor that could turn rowdy! ha!

What are you up to this weekend?

Swing Batter Batter Swing Batter!

Tonight was the start of our Softball Season. The "Corked Bats" took the field with great spirit, but it turns out our Drinking Team may have a Softball Problem. We had great fun and only lost 15-13. Plus, Katie is in Calgary this week -- so she was able to play too! It's actually a team from her work and Scott was invited to play this year.
Katie had some impressive hits and was on base a few times. She didn't see much fielding action - I think the opposition was scared to hit it to her field ; )
Scott had a double, two singles and grounded out twice. He has some work to do in the field - missed an easy pop-fly. Tuesday night beer-league, so stay posted for season updates. Until next time -- swing away!

Weekend Birthday Bash

Katie's Birthday Bowler-Ram-Ma was on Saturday night and was a huge success! Everyone was in a festive mood and supported the beach Wear Theme.

The non-bowlers put on a good show trying different techniques to rack-up the score, but it was Chris who took home top prize with a 195.

There was lots of trash talk and fun rivalries to keep us laughing in our "trendy" bowling shoes.

KJL Enterprises even had a cake to help celebrate their 28 years! hee-hee. If you missed it, we missed you - and we'll see you next year! If you were there - thanks for coming to celebrate. We hope you had as much fun as us! Enjoy the photos!

Birthday Bowler-Ram-Ma!

Excited?! Heck Ya!! Friday is Katie's Birthday and what has quickly become tradition - I'm throwing her a Birthday Bowler-Ram-Ma!

Saturday night we are having her party. This year's theme is beach wear -- partly because we're fighting the gloom of rain & snow and partly because who doesn't like to pretend to be at the beach?!

Last year was more a tacky-tourist theme and while we had such great fun @ the Thrift Store shopping for our outfits, we've upgraded our venue this year and figured we'd try and live the beach wear dream. Although last year, Katie went more for the "Junior High Princess Prom Dress Look" hahaha-Wicked!

I think there's close to 30 people on the list - so we should have tons of laughs, food and good pictures to share with you after the weekend!

In the meantime, enjoy a few photos from last year's Birthday Bowler-Ram-Ma!

Weekend Fun!

We made the most of our Friday off and got together with our great friends The Bulmers! We put together a round robin squash tournament in the afternoon and had great fun. It was almost like the picture -- but I think we had a few more spectators! ha!!
It was funny because none of us had played in a long time and I think that helped to make all of our skill levels even out! Although everyone did have their strengths -- Alicia was speedy on the court. Katie was relentless, chasing after shots that you didn't think could be returned. Mark had a powerful serve that was very difficult to return and Scott had the bank shot off the edge of the court.

We celebrated our "wins" by having dinner at the Bulmers - great bison and turkey burgers and plenty of vino to keep us talking about everything and anything! We made a quick dash down the street to Shanks and played some Golden Tee and Shoot 'em Up games.

The rest of our weekend was low key - we were out enjoying the weather on Sunday, once it finally got nice!

Hope you enjoyed your Easter Weekend too!

Countdown - Yeah!

6 Months from today, we get married in Tahiti!! xo

How wicked is that? (answer: Heck ya, very very wicked!!)

And to help get us, and the family and friends who will be joining us, get through the final cold spurts of winter here in Canada -- we're sharing some photos of the resort we'll be having the ceremony at and the overwater bungalows we'll be staying at after our cruise. Enjoy!

The photo above shows the Resort and the little island (motu) where the ceremony will actually take place.

The photo below gives you the idea of the entire resort. We'll be in one of the Overwater Bungalows in the foreground near the Motu.

Topical Comment

In honour of April Fool's Day, call up a friend - leave her/him a message saying, "It's Mr Lyon, please call me back." and leave the number for your local zoo. You're Welcome.

Did anyone fall for any of the tricks that local papers print for their readers today? The Calgary Sun posted an article about how Deerfoot Trail was going to be turned into a toll road. They provided a phone number at the end of the article for readers who wanted to 'express their opinion' on the idea. Of course, the recorded message at the number informed the caller they had just been pranked.

Enjoy your day!
