It's been a few weeks since my work schedule has allowed me to play a Tuesday night ball game, but I made it out tonight and it felt good to be back on the diamond!
My coach must have thought I had hit the batting cage while I was away, since he put me in the top of the batting order. Lucky for me, I did not disappoint. I went 2 for 3 with a double and a single. I hit in two RBIs in our loosing effort of 12-5. We had heavy rain which cause the game to end an inning early -- I'd like to think that we could have mounted a comeback, but the truth hurts.
In the field, my highlight of the night was helping turn a double play in the third inning. I was playing SS, took a hard grounder, tossed it to the second baseman, who threw it to first base. Nice.
Tonight is also game night in Mexico! Katie is at a Men's National Soccer Game in Mexico City. She called during the half and it sounds very cool -- she's gonna blog about it tomorrow -- so stay tuned!
