Cold Snap!

The thing about living in Calgary is that you get spoiled with winter weather. The sun shines 95% of the time and we get warm Chinook winds that typically blow away any nasty weather that has plans to stick around.

So when we wake-up to -28 and wind chills in the -40s...we are quick to complain! If we wanted this type of weather we'd move to Winnipeg ; )

It is supposed to warm up by the end of the week - but for the time being, it's limited outdoor activities! I met Katie for lunch today and we ran (yes, actual running took place) down the street from her office to a little Italian Restaurant that is normally jam-packed. Today, not so much. But that will probably do it for being outdoors for either of us the rest of the day!

Stay warm and think of all the great tropical places you'd rather be!

Brrr! I'm freezing too! Took three kids with me today to apply for Cole's passport & it was so cold out! I thought that might make the line-up shorter! haha! As it turned out, I got to the passport office at 10am, then through a Tim Horton's drive thru and walked through my front door at 11am! ONE HOUR! Very impressive when you're dealing with coats, strollers etc but there's just no one out! I'm IN for the day now though! Stay warm & I'll try to do the same :)

We are coming to see you next time we need our passports, Lou! VERY impressive - more so when you consider you had kids with you the entire time! Perhaps we have much longer lines, but nonetheless an accomplishment! Great photos on your blog of the boys skating and sledding!

Sounds cold guys! We are pretty chilly down here too... but here's a stat: for the first time in 75 years there was NO SNOW in NYC during the month of January!?

I'm kinda missing my true Canadian winter with plenty of snow!

Hope all are having a good week!

ps - GO NY GIANTS!!!

Sounds cold everywhere. We were a balmly 3°C today. And it only snowed for a few minutes around 8:00AM. Mom & Dad reported heavy snow all the way from PA to Nanaimo but they made it through. Hope everything warms up for y'all.
