What do you think of this proposal for the English Language?
I say - For shame Sir, you soil the term!
These new forms of communication do have a place in society tho. For example, when ur lol with your bffl about w/e and she ses she's sori the sob dsnt luv u! tyvm.
We need to have an appreciation of the English Language before we bastardize it. Proper language skills will always be required in society.
Katie bought this shirt the other day, so she may have a counter-point.

Well Mr. Boyd...even though I can hardly spell my name and always use spell check (even in this post - I just copy and paste into Word and then copy and paste it back) I do agree with you! I would also like to point out that when I text message I typically use the entire word since it drives me crazy to use lol, bff, w/e, etc. (etc. is totally acceptable though!)
And the t-shirt…well, let's just say that I recognize my flaws and can laugh at them! The funniest part is that I'm only good at hard math, like differential equations and linear algebra – ask me to add 8 and 13 and see how good I am at math!!!
Irregardless…hahahahah…I just wanted to add that one in for a laugh – and yes I do know that it isn't a word!!!
Too funny! I had to laugh at the shirt because a few times I've completely changed the word when I couldn't spell what I needed! I cannot stand LOL and never use it - unless I'm joking with someone who feels the same way! Another one that annoys me because it's over used is ROFL (dumb!) I will admit to doing b/c once in awhile for 'because' :)

I am so nervous to write this comment for fear that I might spell something incorrectly!
But, this whole new idea is very wrong! What annoys me just as much is poor grammar. I edited a novel a few months ago and started to go dizzy from all the mistakes! The author had obviously not consulted his handbook of English Grammar.
