Ottawa Realizations . . .

I love walking around downtown Ottawa. Tonight before I met with friends in the Market, I walked Major's Hill Park and the grounds of Parliament Hill. This photo (phone camera...poor quality) is from the park looking up to the clock tower on Parliament Hill.
I was struck by the history of where I was walking and as I reflected - I thought that this would be a great place to live with the family...
But then I remember each time I've ever worked along side the Feds (sorry, Grant!) and I know the bureaucracy of this city would drive me insane!
So we'll just have to plan a family visit instead! hahaha. In all seriousness, I think this is my next favorite Canadian City after Calgary. I really wish Calgary could duplicate the vibe and atmosphere of the Market here - Eau Claire is just so bland in comparison.
What are your thoughts on our Nation's Capital?

Grant loves Ottawa! He doesn't even mind the 'feds'. It is on our family travel list soon. (After all we have been to Washington DC)

Ottawa is a beautiful city - in all seasons it has something exceptional to offer. I haven't been in a long time but may have to do a visit again soon.

Really, Calgary is your favourite Canadian city? I know you live there and all, but I don't live in my favourite Canadian city... not by a long shot!

Hi Sarah!

Definately - biking, snowboarding, hiking, a big city buzz and one of the top Canadian city's in regard to amount of sunshine!

Do you miss Victoria?

Sarah said...

Yes, I miss Victoria, and more than that I miss being close to the ocean. I guess I could drive to White Rock more often, but I don't get out there enough... You forgot to mention that Calgary has the Stampede!! That would be a big plus for me with Calgary, but the amount of snow you get would put me over the edge!!!

I've never been to Ottawa, so I can't comment on its beauty... although this photo was pretty cool, even for being taken with a phone camera!
